Cut from premium white mercerized combed cotton, ensuring impeccable drape and lasting softness, the NIL flat sheet showcases our house’s emblematic savoir-faire. A twisted thread, entirely hand-braided, runs across the entire width of the piece. It is punctuated at regular intervals by delicate needle-shaped passementerie balls, extending even into the corners.

This ancestral thread craftsmanship is realized piece by piece. Every detail is shaped by passionate artisans who work from their homes. This ethical and flexible organization allows these women to perpetuate this Marrakech savoir-faire at their own pace, while benefiting from fairly remunerated work.

A Unique Artisanal Finish

Each passementerie element is attached by hand, one by one. This extreme care explains why no two sheets are ever exactly alike. These subtle variations constitute the charm and authenticity of handmade items. Here, we find the same exacting standards as in traditional Moroccan passementerie, where braided threads have adorned traditional garments for generations.

The Inspiration Behind the NIL Model

Born from Valérie Barkowski’s passion for the art of twisted thread upon her arrival in Marrakech in 1996, the NIL collection infuses a contemporary spirit into Moroccan passementerie.

This craftsmanship, which traditionally adorns quality garments, finds a new relevance here on designer bed linens.
