The Spirit of the House
Originally a 17th-century religious building, Dar Kawa was restored by Valérie Barkowski alongside architect Quentin Wilbaux. The project honors the original structure while proposing a contemporary vision of hospitality design.
Each room holds its own atmosphere. Light moves through whitewashed walls, hand picked objects find their place naturally. The interiors reflect a refined simplicity, with a focus on material, proportion, and balance.
At the heart of the house, the kitchen is open and alive. Meals are prepared daily, vegetarian, local, and seasonal. The dedicated team is present yet discreet, and accompanies each guest with care.
Reservations are made by email. From the first contact, the experience is personal. Dar Kawa is a private riad experience, shared with intention.
Textiles as Atmosphere
Every textile at Dar Kawa is created by Valérie Barkowski and handcrafted in her atelier nearby. Bed linens, cushions, curtains: each piece is part of a visual and tactile vocabulary that defines the house. Dar Kawa offers a particular kind of stay: slow luxury accommodation in a setting shaped by thought. The experience is intimate, pared down, and meaningful. Some pieces at Dar Kawa were created specifically for the house, drawn by Valérie Barkowski in limited series, or conceived as unique works. They inhabit the space with purpose, becoming part of its identity.
