Each corner bears a large tassel hand-crafted by women artisans working from home: a model that respects their pace of life and ensures fair compensation. The placemat is produced to order, leaving each piece with slight variations—the hallmark of artisanal craft rather than mass production.

On the Tulum Placemat, the four tassels are attached one by one to the corners of the piece: their generous volume visually structures the setting without ever cluttering the table. It is this richness of material, specific to the large format of a placemat, that gives Tulum its architectural presence.

Care

A machine wash at 40°C on a delicate cycle is sufficient to preserve the Tulum placemat’s structure. Iron on a hot setting, on the reverse side, so as not to crush the volume of the tassels.
