A lively place, designed for a different kind of hospitaly
Dar Kawa is a confidential riad in Marrakech, a guest house with a soul nestled in the medina. I wanted you to feel at home here, naturally, as if in a house that you rediscover every time you come back. Days follow a simple rhythm: breakfast on the terrace, a moment of reading in the patio, a shared dinner. Everything is designed to create a balance between calm, beauty and attention.
A team that sets the mood
The team is at the heart of the Dar Kawa experience. Céline takes care of reservations and contact with our guests before their arrival. On site, Abdelhadi and Youssef ensure the smooth running of the stay and the special atmosphere that defines the house. Saida, our chef, prepares a generous, nuanced vegetarian cuisine every day. Laaziza and Khadija, our chambermaids, look after the rooms with the utmost delicacy. Ouadiä, janitor by night and student by day, watches over the house with calm, and Ahmed makes sure that everything works, always discreetly. Everyone contributes to this rare feeling of balance and gentleness, like a home away from home.
Simple, lively, seasonal cuisine
Dar Kawa’s cuisine reflects our philosophy of doing things right, using fresh, local and seasonal products. Everything is prepared on site, every day. We give priority to organic products, short circuits and traditional recipes revisited with style. Under Saida’s direction, Moroccan cuisine rediscovers here its most sincere dimension: a right taste, a sharing moment and slowness. A meal at Dar Kawa is a moment of conviviality, an experience in itself.
A lived-in aesthetic, a mix of finds and creations
Every object, every piece of furniture, every drawing at Dar Kawa tells a story: a find in the medina, a souvenir from a trip, an encounter. The house is alive, nourished by fragments brought back from elsewhere. The textiles, sheets, towels, tablecloths and cushions are part of my collections, designed in Marrakech and made by hand. They reflect the spirit of the place, between simplicity and high standards. Here, aesthetics are never decorative: they’re part of everyday life. It reflects a sober, coherent and authentic art of living.
A confidential riad not on Booking, for a real experience, in Marrakech
Dar Kawa is a guesthouse with a soul, away from standardized tourism. Reservations are made directly by email, without intermediaries or platforms. A way of preserving confidentiality, the quality of our welcome and the fluidity of human contact. We like to take the time to get to know each traveler, to understand his or her desires, so as to offer an experience that’s just like him or her. For me, that’s what slow travel in Morocco is all about: traveling with sense, curiosity and respect.
