OMANA Hand Towel

The Omana Hand Towel features the same twisted thread as the rest of the collection, along all four sides. This thread, hand-twisted by our artisans in Marrakech, meets at the four corners of the piece, where it is sewn and then finished with a knot. An everyday essential, it remains true to the collection’s original purpose: to complement bed linen in the bathroom, with the same hand-turned trim, from sheets to rugs.

The finish, explained for this piece

On the OMANA Hand Towel, the twisted thread borders a 50 x 100 cm format. Two threads accompany this piece, like the Bath Mat, compared to three on the Bath Sheet and Shower Sheet, and only one on the Guest Towel.

At the four corners, the threads meet, are sewn together, and finished with a knot. This is the piece handled most often, day after day: this regularity, controlled corner by corner, must withstand frequent use without ever loosening. Folded, hung, or rolled between uses, the border maintains its shape thanks to the solidity of the seam that closes each corner, an anchor point that remains stable despite repeated handling.

The birth of the Omana collection, as told by Valérie Barkowski

A client once asked her for a proposal for bed linen and bath linen for a place with a personal and unique character, which will be revealed later. For this hospitality project, budget remained, as often, a central criterion. Valérie Barkowski then proposed working with the Yoyo model for the bed, using a twisted thread.

This is how Omana was born: a direct response to this twisted-thread bed linen, designed to extend the same artisanal touch to the bathroom. Omana became the house’s first bath linen collection to feature a passementerie finish, a technique previously reserved for bed linen.

Composing your bathroom

The Omana Hand Towel completes the entire range of household bath linen. It can also be chosen alongside bed linen with trim finishes (Nil, Yoyo, Yumi, Aya) which it was designed to complement, or with another bath finish such as Memba and Lamu, without the obligation to follow a single range from floor to ceiling. Its availability in solid colors as well as multi-color ranges makes it an easy piece to match with the rest of the home, day after day, regardless of the existing decor.

Care

A first wash at 40°C makes the terry softer and increases its absorption capacity. Separate light and dark tones, and avoid fabric softeners, which reduce the absorption capacity of cotton. Machine drying, when possible, best preserves the fabric’s softness. On this everyday item, the twisted thread retains its original color without fading over time.
